Japanese Shell on Yap Beach

We took a break one afternoon to go to a private beach on Yap and relax. Unfortunately, it rained most of the day on the side of the island we selected therefore we spent the day trying to keep our books dry. Although I was trying to relax and not search for war materials, I found the following "live" shell while walking the beach. As you can see from the pictures the shell was just sitting on the beach rusting away. A villager said the shell washed up on the beach recently and they thought it was harmless. I advised otherwise and recommend that they have someone get rid of the shell and keep the children away. The is a classic example of the war materials still remaining on islands such as Yap.
