Don Baer Micronesia Pictures from 1976 of Yap, Truk, Majuro, Palau, Ponope, Guam and more
Don Baer spent a month in Micronesia in 1976 when he was 18 years old. he spent 5 days diving Truk, 5 days camping on an island off Majuro, and time on Palau, Guam, and Ponope. His time at Yap was simply a stop on Air Micronesia (Air Mike) to drop off and pick up passengers. He had enough time to get a box of Beetle nuts, take some pictures of the Japanese wrecks near the airfield and get back on the plane.Don now lives near the end of the Runway at Chino Airport and is a member of the Planes of Fame.
Don took pictures of a number of wrecks, guns and other WWII related items including the Japanese wrecks along the old airfield. Some of the planes in Don's pictures have since been removed to Japan and restored.
