Excerpt about the DiSanti Crew crash from "The Long Rangers" by Sam Britt: On September 2nd F/O Peter J. DiSanti (371st) and part of his crew were on an administrative flight from Clark Field to Mororai. He got caught in weather and was making an instrument let down when he crashed just north of the runway. The beam at Morotai was a scissor beam and much more difficult to use than the usual type. The wreckage was spotted the next day; a rescue team reached it and found all were dead.
