I received documents and pictures from George Clark relating to the Strawser PDM crew who went down near Yap on February 23, 1945 and floated towards Yap. George was a QM 3/C aboard the USS Cockrell. The USS Alvin C. Cockrell (DE-366) rescued the entire PBM crew. They first tried to tow the plane and then decided to destroy and sink the plane when it would not tow.
