I was contacted by the family of Richard O'Brien who was a member of the Anthony Crew. The Anthony crew was shot down over Yap on August 10, 1944. Two of the crew members bailed out of the plane and were captured and executed by the Japanese. The O'Brien family lore is that this crew had volunteered for one last mission when their B-24 was shot down. They thought Richard was rescued, and then was lost on a hospital ship. After reading the mission report and other information posted at the following link they now understand he was likely killed when the plane crashed off the Yap harbor.
