Last Sunday the www.identifinders.com organization help me (once again) find the relatives of a MIA (missing flyer) who was shot down over Yap Island. This time it was the family of Ens. Howard A. Holding who was shot down along with two other F6F-5 Hellcat's on September 6, 1944. The Identifinders organization has been very generously donating their time to help with my project--thank you! After my initial contact with the Holding family on Sunday, two members have decided to join us on Yap in a few weeks to take part in the WWII memorial dedication service. It has been a great pleasure to connect with the Holding family and share all the information we have researched as well as the crash site we originally located in 2006.
