With the help of Katie Rasdorf (researcher), we have located the name of the parent of Lt. Harry Brown who was shot down over Yap on 6 September 1944. We located his plane and what we believe to be his remains two years ago. Up until this point I have not been able to locate his family, a picture or additional information about Harry Dugan Brown. It’s interesting to note that his parents names listed on the archived casualty report have a different last name. Did his father pass away and was his mother remarried? Did both his parents pass away and could the parents listed be an older sister? Here’s what’s listed is listed:
Lt. (jg) Harry Dugan Brown Supply Corps, USNR Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Fred Greiner Sunnybrook Road, Bronxville, NY
I would be VERY interested in any information that anyone can help me located about Lt.(jg) Harry D. Brown (MIA). • Service #0-276232 • VF-20, USN, F6F-5 Hellcat from the USS Enterprise • Yap Island Mission Loss—6 September 1944 • http://www.missingaircrew.com/yap/mac/6sept1944.asp
