Jack Coleman, the brother of 2nd Lt. Gerald D. Coleman, http://www.missingaircrew.com/crew/coleman/, passed away last week. Gerald D. Coleman was the pilot of my uncle's B-24. His family stated the following, "We wanted to let you know that Jack Coleman, Gerald's brother passed away peacefully this morning. He was a great Marine who among many positive things loved his brother Gerald very much and did his best to make sure people knew of Gerald's and his crews sacrifice."
Jack served as a Marine in the pacific and fought island to island even after hearing that Gerald had been shot down and killed in action. I was never able to talk to Jack. I found his address and phone number a few years ago but he was already sick. I have since discovered a few letters he wrote trying to find out information about Gerlad and the crews loss over Yap. I wish I would have been able to talk to Jack.
